Set for Life changes 2020

Set for Life is Australia's lottery that is giving you the chance to win $20,000 a month for 20 years (that comes out to 240 payments)! Few exciting changes are set to be introduced to Set for Life results from draw 1691 on March 23.

The new rules will see an annuity prize brought in to Division 2, while there are set to be more winners in every draw. Here’s the main things that will change beginning on Monday, March 23, 2020:

Change to Division 2: new opportunity to win a fixed monthly prize. Those players who correctly choose seven of the eight numbers plus one of the bonus numbers will win a fixed annuity prize of $5,000 a month for a year, a total of $60,000 (for up to four winners in every draw).

Change to chances of winning: With better odds of winning, both overall and Division 1, there are set to be more winners in every draw. Now chances are one in 38,320,568 (was one in 38,608,020).

Changes to the chances of winning any prize with a single game: one in 50 (wan one in 59).

Change to the matrix: 7 winning numbers + 2 supplementary numbers drawn from 44 (was 8+2 from 37).

Change to the winning combinations for each division: Match required for minimum win: 3 numbers + 1 supplementary number for division eight (was 4+1).

Increase in price per game to support these game changes: Additional 5 cents per game per draw for the bigger prizes and increased number of winners, although for now multi-week and advance entries that include draws on or after 23 March will not be available.

In the nearly five years since Set for Life launched, there have been 55 first-place winners. Their payments seek up to $264 million. In 2019, there were 11 first-place winners, and The Lott is set to pay them $52.8 million over the next 20 years.
